Cheap GPS cycling computers are pretty easy to get hold of these days. They’ve been around for a few years now, and like with all new technology, the price drops as more and more brands are released. At the forefront of GPS bike computers are Garmin. A cheap Garmin GPS computer is a great find. They do do cheaper models, but they have a massive range of low priced, to higher end GPS computers. It’s possible to get one that will track speed and distance for under £100. These are great if you’re just after increasing your times and to keep track of your rides. Some of the more expensive Garmin GPS cycling computers do the lot. They’ll display the road on a car GPS style navigation system, come with Heart Rate Monitors, so as to proper train using your heart rate and loads more features too. Now these Garmin GPS computers aren’t that cheap, but we’ll show you the different range of models and the best place to buy them, so as you aren’t spending more than you need to be doing
Garmin really have been at the cutting edge of GPS computers for some time now. They not only have cheap GPS cycling computers, but also cheap GPS sports watches too. We’ll feature them on a different list though. For this list we will only so the cheapest GPS bike computers and best value for money GPS systems.
This is the entry level in GPS cycling computers, but it's a great low price and does all the essentials you expect from a GPS system. There is no map display, but after your ride you can upload it to Garmin for a full breakdown of your ride.
This Garmin Edge 25 GPS Cycle Computer is one model up on the one above and has a great sale price that's on it right now. Wiggle are offering a 32% discount, making it pretty good value for money.
Another one that has been around for a few years now. The Edge has always been a firm favourite for it's easy to use, simple design, and the 20% sale price makes it an attractive buy.
The Garmin Edge 510 GPS Computer is a real riders GPS system. Long battery, touch screen and an all round great GPS computer. Decent sale on it of 17%, so not bad value for money either.
Now we're really getting into the daddies of Garmin GPS computers. The Edge Explore 1000 is the top model, so we'll show you 3 cheap options for it, all with different deals. This is the cheapest Garmin Edge 1000, but it's just for the unit.
This is more expensive than the same model above from Wiggle. But this is the performance bundle one. It might be worth pricing all this up separately, but we think this bundle from Ribble Cycles is cheaper. If you're not going to use the bundle extras, then go for the Wiggle one.
